15 Card Romany Spread - The Aces

The Ace of Wands

Linking the ideas covered earlier, we can see that the Ace of Wands brings together the idea of pure or new action with that of career, in which career is more than just a means of earning money.

Thus, in a reading, the Ace of Wands represents a change at the work level and a decisive move towards doing something for a living that more accurately reflects the individual's unique character.

The Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups brings its strength to the area of emotion and creativity. In a reading it stands for a new creative impetus. This will often take the form of falling in love and starting a new relationship. Even where there is an established relationship, it can often act as a channel for a new influx of creativity.

The Ace of Swords

This card speaks of new ideas and efforts to learn. It is the classic card for a course of study, whether for student or teacher.

As a characteristic the Ace of Swords stands for singlemindedness and strength of purpose. This holds true for any of the aces to some extent but this one illustrates most clearly the saying "Nothing is more dangerous than an idea when it is the only one you have." We can achieve anything when everything we are is devoted to a single goal.

The Ace of Pentacles

The Ace of Pentacles has to cover a lot of ground. Its combination of new beginnings with the physical, health and monetary realms covers a wide range of events. An improvement in financial status, a change of home and a birth are all potential meanings, depending on other cards around it. In a question of health it would be a strong positive indication.
