15 Card Romany Spread
This is my favourite spread for general readings. I find it gives plenty of scope for the cards to express the essence of a complex situation but keeps things contained enough to avoid fuzzy generalities.
Cards 7, 11 and 15 represent what the querent is bringing to the situation. They may show innate character traits, factors from childhood or the tone of the querent's life so far.
Cards 6, 10 and 14 show the recent past, the backdrop to the present.
Cards 1, 2 and 3 show the present and near future events, normally within three months.
Cards 4, 8 and 12 show the natural future, i.e. events as they are most likely to transpire.
Cards 5, 9 and 13 are called the "alternative future". They may show a complete alternative path (useful if the Natural Future looks grim) or extra events which can be brought in, which may be positive or negative. They should also show a difference in the querent's own action, which is required to bring about "alternative" events. The Magician >
